The PTA of Cross Farm Infant School had successfully raised a significant amount of money to help fund a new playground project for their main school playground. As is the case with a lot of timber adventure trim trail equipment, their existing playground equipment was very much starting to show signs of venturing beyond its sell-by date with the timber rotting and loose parts which were needing a lot of on-going maintenance.
They were about to place an order with another company for a replacement trim trail made again out of the traditional rounded timber posts when the head received one of our promotional emails marketing our new range of play equipment which is manufactured entirely out of recycled plastic. As the school already have a lot of playground picnic tables made out of this material, they were already converts to the cause. So it was an easy decision to make for them!
The benefits to a school of using recycled plastic for playground equipment can be seen by clicking on the below link:
Cross Farm wanted an adventure trim trail which could easily fit into the area they had available and which could be extended at a later date when further funds have been raised. They also wanted to have product items which were all low level at 300mm or below to negate the need for any safer surfacing. They elected to have the following products from our range: Stepping stones; double traverse wall; drop rope traverse; 4 x adjoining traverse ropes; swinging log crossing; balance beam; clatter bridge.
We managed to install the equipment within a day and a half and this also included the time for our installers to remove the existing timber play equipment.
The play area is now in full use and is being very much enjoyed by the children…and by the school’s caretaker who does not have to worry about any future maintenance concerns!
