Dipping Ponds are a fascinating habitat (in the UK two thirds of freshwater animals and plants live within our ponds) and they provide a very practical way to learn the principles of ecology and the relationship between man and his environment. So we have developed a dipping pond platform product to encourage schools to participate as they are also a major asset to teaching the primary curriculum concepts within life processes and living things.

Health and Safety – all children enjoy pond dipping but there are some serious important health and safety considerations when considering designing and developing ponds for use by schools including “slips and trips”. Please therefore carry out risk assessments in accordance with LEA guidelines for all activities associated with ponds. Good pond designs can reduce some of these risks however.
