Sensory gardens are an excellent way of promoting the five senses and are now commonplace in both mainstream settings as well as SEN establishments.
Netherfield Primary had a space on their playing field which they wanted to develop into a simple but effective sensory garden area. When it comes to sensory gardens, we can either create gardens which typically feature a lot of landscaping and bespoke design work or we can supply from our catalogue of products which all promote a sensory theme.
In this instance, we were not limited by a constricted area and the school wanted to have more of an open plan feel to the area. We therefore supplied and installed the following products: sofas covered in artificial grass; light and sound archways; sensory panels mounted onto posts; woodland style benching; sensory cubes; living wall tipis; animal seating in artificial grass coverings
The work was completed in two days over the summer holidays.
